Since 2009, the surgeons at the Coon Joint Replacement Institute have performed a combined total of over 20,000 knee and hip joint replacement surgeries. Achievements in patient safety and patient satisfaction have propelled us to become the highest volume provider in California, and to be ranked amongst the nation’s top performing hospitals.

Coon Joint Replacement Institute surgeons were among the first to use the Mako surgical robotic arm to perform MAKOplasty®, which is a technique that resurfaces the damaged area without compromising the healthy bone and tissue surrounding it, often referred to as a partial knee replacement. Today we are one of the highest MAKOplasty volume centers in the United States.

Coon Joint Replacement Institute is now at the forefront of the MAKOplasty® Total Knee. Our institute is one of the first to be performing this surgery in the United States.

The Institute has earned the Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval™ for Knee Replacement and the Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval™ Advanced Certification for Total Knee and Hip Replacement. It is registered as a Blue Distinction Center® from Blue Shield of California and Aetna Institutes Of Quality® (10Q) Total Joint Replacement Program.
