Michael Caravelli, MD

The Coon Joint Replacement Institute welcomes board certified orthopedic surgeon Dr. Michael Caravelli, who specializes in minimally invasive knee and hip joint replacement surgery and both operative and non-operative treatment of osteoarthritis. His expertise includes robotic-assisted total and partial knee replacement, direct anterior hip replacement and complex knee and revision surgery.

Dr. Caravelli brings 10 years of experience and is highly regarded by his peers and patients. He specializes in a patient-centered approach and is motivated by improving quality of life for those suffering from joint pain.

Dr. Caravelli has experience monitoring quality, value and outcome data as part of his passion to provide the highest level of care and strong patient satisfaction. He is also an advocate for healthcare reform and improving care delivery.

He looks forward to joining the Coon Joint Replacement Institute team due to its well-established program. Over its 10-year history, the Institute has completed 12,000 joint replacements and achieved exceptional efficiencies and certifications.

In his personal time, Dr. Caravelli continues his family’s Italian traditions of cooking, entertaining and enjoying lots of Italian food with his two children. And as a former professional baseball player, he also likes to stay active with paddle boarding and mountain biking.
